    After a trip to Stonestown Galleria with Louie after work, in search of Claire's birthday present, i snagged up the following items for myself at Express:

    - cropped jean jacket: regular price $69.50, sale $34.75
    - cropped jeans: regular price $59.50, sale $14.99
    - dress top: regular price $49.50, sale $9.99
    - cropped editor pants: regular price $49.50, sale $5.99

    So instead of costing $228, everything cost $65.72, which means a savings of $162.28 over the original price.  I had been eyeing cropped jean jackets for over a year, and I've been meaning to get new pants since some of my current ones are too big now, but money is too tight to be spending $40-$70 on each of those things.  I was looking at the top the last time I was at Express, but was unwilling to pay $49.50 for it.  So I just couldn't resist the after Christmas sale.  But there's more--Louie decided to just buy these things for me as an early birthday present (mine's next month), which I think is just oh so sweet .

    And then, when we got home we got our Christmas presents from Joel.  So now I have no choice but to venture into H&M and see if I'm up for rumbling with the other shoppers.  I'm currently trying figure out the best day and time to go to that store--a day and time, which will not make it necessary for me to sharpen my fingernails into sharp points to use in fending off crazed women   who may attempt to grab clothing out of my arms. 

    PS Note to Claire: Um, I think this year's birthday present may have to count towards next year's, as well.  Or maybe you and Micah can just share it!  Yeah!

  • oooh great deals!! at least u dinnit pay the full price cuz alan bought me a sweater from there for my bday and when we wandered in during the after xmas sale my sweater was half the price. eh.

  • Girl...dat's mah store! It's sad to say that I am enslaved to a credit card there. But I just love all those casual clothes! Hard to resist those savings too, such a good buy! Go Crystal, Go!

  • I am not a shopper but I love saving money, and if that means that it was stuff you needed then you really did get a great bargain... I hope your Christmas went well and also your new year.  By the way I like the new look of your site it stands out so much more...
